St Mary’s is a Voluntary Aided Church of England primary school, where responsibility for admissions rests with the Governing Body. Governors hope that parents who have chosen St Mary’s school for their child have done so knowing that, although the school welcomes children from all cultures and religions, it has a distinctive Christian ethos and celebrates all the Christian festivals. Governors expect parents to give their full support to the Christian ethos of the school. Each class has a maximum of 30 children.

You will be able to apply for a place from September 2010 either via the Local Authority website, or by completing the Common Application Form, which can be collected from Regal House or the School Office in Amyand Park Road. You must only make one application: either online, or on paper. If you wish to apply for one of our 16 Foundation (i.e. Church) places, you will need, in addition, to submit a supplementary form relating to Church attendance and involvement, which must be completed and signed by your parish priest or minister. Supplementary forms will be available from the school office from September 2010. Please refer to our Parish Boundary Map for details of our catchment area for Foundation Places. Please note that if your road does not fall within one of the three Parish Boundaries, you will not be eligible for admission under the Foundation criteria.

If you already have a child in Reception to Year 5 at St Mary’s, you do not need to complete a supplementary application form for a Foundation place. Siblings take priority over foundation applicants.

DEADLINE FOR RECEPTION 2011 APPLICATIONS IS FRIDAY 3RD DECEMBER 2010
